Welcome to RMJBL

The Richmond Metropolitan Junior Baseball League was founded as the Metropolitan Junior Baseball League, Inc. (MJBL). MJBL is a non-profit organization that was founded in Richmond, VA in 1966. MJBL was founded by Dr. William M.T. Forrester and generally acknowledged as one of the oldest African-American owned and operated inner-city youth baseball leagues in America. Dr. Forrester formed the league to provide baseball opportunities for all youth from all nationalities who desired to play the game.

Over the years the Richmond Metropolitan Junior Baseball l League has provided urban youth of Richmond, VA opportunity to travel to other cities, compete in the game of baseball and be exposed to diverse cultures. Additionally, MJBL our parent organization has since grown to become a national chartering body that networks with youth baseball teams throughout the United States and the Caribbean. Metropolitan Junior Baseball League

In 1991 Richmond Metropolitan Junior Baseball League became a partner of Major League Baseball's Reviving Baseball in Inner cities program (RBI) and has been a committed participant. Since participating in RBI, We have participated in several Regional Tournament championships and RBI World Series Tournaments.

Mission

Our mission is to provide a platform for primarily socially and economically disadvantaged youth to realize their self-worth through educational, athletic and cultural enrichment programs designed by individuals who strive to connect these youth to the legacies of African American life, achievements, and institutions. MJBL is focused on making sure our youth are productive citizens and prepared for success now and in the future.
